Embracing the Unexpected: Incorporating a single member LLC for the First Time

Starting a business was never on my radar. I always saw myself as a dedicated professional, supporting others in their ventures. But life has a funny way of surprising us, and here I am, the proud owner of Wilder Virtual Assistance, now officially an LLC!

Why an LLC?

An LLC offers limited liability, meaning my personal assets are protected in case of any legal issues. This peace of mind allowed me to focus on what I do best – providing top-notch virtual assistance.

Incorporating an LLC might sound daunting, but it was surprisingly straightforward. Here are the steps I took:

4. Create an Operating Agreement: This document outlines the management structure and operating procedures of your LLC. I'm the only employee and also the founder, so I don't have a management structure. This is a later project for me.

5. Obtain an EIN: I applied for an Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS. This is essential for tax purposes and opening a business bank account.

6. Open a Business Bank Account: Keeping my personal and business finances separate is crucial for maintaining clear records and simplifying tax time.
