Starting a business was never on my radar. I always saw myself as a dedicated professional, supporting others in their ventures. But life has a funny way of surprising us, and here I am, the proud owner of Wilder Virtual Assistance, now officially an LLC!

Why an LLC?
Choosing to incorporate as an LLC was a game-changer. It provided me with the legal protection and credibility I needed to take my business to the next level. An LLC offers limited liability, meaning my personal assets are protected in case of any legal issues. This peace of mind allowed me to focus on what I do best – providing top-notch virtual assistance.
The Process
Incorporating an LLC might sound daunting, but it was surprisingly straightforward. Here are the steps I took:
Research: I started by researching the benefits of an LLC and the requirements in my state. There are plenty of resources online, and I found the Small Business Administration (SBA) website particularly helpful.
Choose a Name: I wanted a name that reflected my mission and values. Wilder Virtual Assistance felt just right – it embodies the adventurous spirit and dedication I bring to my work.
File the Paperwork: I filed the necessary paperwork with my state’s Secretary of State office. This included the Articles of Organization and paying a filing fee.
Create an Operating Agreement: This document outlines the management structure and operating procedures of your LLC. I'm the only employee and also the founder, so I don't have a management structure. This is a later project for me.
Obtain an EIN: I applied for an Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS. This is essential for tax purposes and opening a business bank account.
Open a Business Bank Account: Keeping my personal and business finances separate is crucial for maintaining clear records and simplifying tax time.
Looking Ahead
Incorporating an LLC has opened up a world of possibilities for Wilder Virtual Assistance. It has given me the confidence to dream bigger and aim higher. I am excited about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead.
To anyone out there who never imagined themselves as a business owner, I say this: Embrace the unexpected. Take that leap of faith. The journey may be challenging, but the rewards are worth it. Here’s to new beginnings and a bright future!
